Key Benefits of Satellite
VSAT becomes a viable solution if a client requires any of the following:
- Connectivity where ADSL or Cable cannot be accessed.
- MPLS connectivity to remote areas
- Always-on, fast broadband services.
- Quick deployment.
- Secure data transmission.
- Independent of Government operators.
- Fixed Monthly costs, available in a variety of packages.
- Private, Professionally managed Teleport.
- 24/7 Monitoring and support.
- Worldwide coverage.
- Single hop, direct access to International Internet Exchanges.
- Reliable Internet, E-Mail, MPLS and Voice Anywhere – No Matter How Remote
Internet and E-Mail
VSAT allows for a satellite connection into the internet enabling internet surfing, as well as the ability to send and receive e-mails
No matter how remote your site may be, Logical Wireless can provide you with Internet and E-mail services using the latest satellite technology.
On both our Ku and C-Band platforms, Logical Wireless can provide direct data links into World Class Internet Exchanges.
Logical Wireless uses privately owned Teleports, which offer highly reliable internet and e-mail services. These Teleports have direct fiber-optic connections to the worlds Tier-one networks.
All the Teleports have a fully redundant infrastructure of power, critical hardware and routing.
Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
In the current communications environment it is difficult to rely on fixed lines at every branch location. With cables being stolen and the cost of obtaining a connection in a remote location satellite becomes a cost effective solution.
Through our Satellite networks, our clients can develop their own secure Wide Area Networks (WAN) using secure link encryption such as AES or 3DES, and the latest Cisco technology.
There are applications for which latency is critical. This is the case where central database applications are being used. An example of this would be where a central stock system is being run on an Oracle database. All branches have to connect to the head office database to query and update stock levels. A typical star network would mean a connection from the branch to the hub and then from the hub to head office. This means there is a double satellite hop resulting in latency of 1200-1300 milliseconds. Database applications struggle to perform efficiently with such long delays.
Logical Wireless has a Point to Point connectivity solution where you bypass the hub and create a connection directly from the branch to head office. This results in one satellite hop, therefore substantially reducing latency.
Voice Over IP (VOIP)
Logical Wireless can provide a VOIP handset with a VSAT installation or can set up a complete PBX solution to cater for multiple users and concurrent calls. This will allows telephone calls to anywhere in the world. The call costs of these calls are less expensive than local telecom operators and calls within our network are free.
In order to make a voice call there is a minimum guaranteed bandwidth of 20kbps up and down. It is essential to take this into account when selecting your bandwidth package.
Please feel free to phone our sales team who can advise you on the bandwidth that will suit your requirements.
Video conferencing to any remote site in Africa is possible.
This allows businesses in South Africa to conduct a meeting through video technology to a remote site, without travel costs needing to be incurred.
One will need to investigate bandwidth requirements for each Video solution as the quality of service is important.
Point-to-Point VSAT Connectivity
This allows one or more sites to connect directly to another, thus eliminating any third party teleport involvement. The sites are therefore linked directly to one another through one satellite hop, thus substantially, which greatly improves the transfer of data. This type of connectivity is especially efficient when creating a VPN and using time sensitive software applications, i.e. where latency is critical.
